East Sikkim: Gangtok meaning "the hill top" is the capital of Sikkim and the headquater of East district. It is a unique blend of Sikkimese art and culture with modern architecture. 1.Rumtek Dharma Chakra: It is the famous seat of Tibetan Buddhist learning.
2.Namgyal Institute of Tibetology: The most prestigious Buddhist Institute and the treasure tro-ve of rare Lepcha, Tibetan and Sanskrit manuscripts.

3.Saramsa Garden: An excellent place for holidaying and picnic and is the ho-
home of several rare exotic Sikkim's orchids.

4.Directorate of Handicraft and Handloom: It is the store house of Sikkim's
traditional arts and crafts.
5.Enchey Monastery: This 200 year old monastery is famous 'chaam' or
religious masked dance which takes place around january every year.
6.Flower Festival: An alluring spot with the exhibition of exotic, mind
blowing , eye catching flowers throughout the year.
7.Do-Drul Chorten(Stupa):It is richly decorated with prayer flags with
religious scripts. Around the Chorten there are 108 ' Mani Lhaka' (prayer wheels).
8.Gangtok Ropeway: It is the pride of Gangtok, one can have a thrilling experience of the picturesque city from the top
covering the distance of 1 km in 7 minutes.
9.Tsomgo Lake: About 40 kms from Gangtok ,this 1 km long,15 mtr deep oval lake is 12,400 ft above sea level. This lake considered sacred by the local people remains frozen during the winter months till mid-may.
10.Baba Harbajan Singh Memorial:Built in the memorial of Harbajan Singh, a sepoy in 23rd Punjab Regiment, this memorial is between the Nathu-la and Jelep-la passes.

11.Nathula: Located 56 kms from Gangtok, at an altitude of 14,400 ft above sea level, at the bo-rder of India and China. It is open only for Indian Nationals on Wednesday, Thursday,Saturday and Sunday and visitors require a permit.
12.Ganesh Tok: From this temple of Lord Ganesha, one can get a bird's eye view of Mt. Kanch-enzonga and Mt. Siniolchu.
13.Hanuman Tok: In this temple of Lord Hanuman devotees can come and offer prayers.
