South Sikkim: South District is fast developing into an attractive tourist destination. Nestled among the hills Namchi has an alluring panoramic view of snow capped mountains. Adventure Tourism is being promoted here with base camps being set at Ravangla and treks upto Maenam and Tendong Hill, the root of Lepcha folklore. The main places of attraction are:
1.Namchi:It literally means "Top of the sky" and is the headquarter of south district.
Main places of Interest:
Samdruptse:It means the "Wish Fulfilling Hill". A 135 ft unique statue of Guru Padmasambhava which is said to be the tallest in the world is installed at the top of Samdruptse.

Temi Tea Garden: It is the only tea estate existing in the state, produces top quality tea for international market. The tea garden spread out on a gentle hill slope originating from the Tendong Hill provides a magnifici-ent view of the surrounding villages.
2.Ravangla: A beautiful subdivisional town free from the hustle and bustle of city life. You can get a glimpse of the mighty Kanchenzonga from here and feel elated.

Ralong Monastery: This monastery situated near Ravangla is the oldest Kargypa Sect monastery. Short Treks from Ravangla:
Maenam Hill:
It is a 4 hour uphill trek through the Maenam Wildlife Santuary, home of Red Pa-nda,Himalayan Black beat and several species of deer. A half hour distance away is Bhaley Dun-ga-a peculiar looking cliff('Dunga') which resembles a cock('Bhaley').
Tendong Hill(8530): Several years ago a great flood submerged the land and Tendong meaning 'upraised horn' rose up miraculously. Even today prayers are offered to prevent from calamities.
